Think and Write: Dark & Light Art Exhibit Where: Mira Costa High School Art Gallery - Room 60 When: January 16-24, 2018 The Think and Write: Dark & Light was a multi-media exhibit featuring artworks addressing various topics. Many were paintings, with some being paper art sculptures, but all were accompanied by a poem selected by the artists. The poem revealed the inspiration of each work. Most shared a common material: book pages. These pages often were stained and coarse with age, further adding to the vintage and poetic mood of the exhibit. Some pages were painted over and some were ripped to then be added onto a painted canvas. Each piece seemed dark and heavy with meaning, despite sporting vibrant colors. This exhibit allowed each artist to communicate with the public personally and freely.
